Loch Lomond, Trossachs, Stirling Castle
The tour leaves Edinburgh at 09.00hrs and travels towards GLASGOW, Scotland’s largest city. As you bypass the city you will see Glasgow Cathedral and the Mitchell Library. After crossing the river Clyde and a short drive you arrive at LOCH LOMOND, Britain’s largest surface area of fresh water loch. At the village of Balloch on the banks of Loch Lomond you will be able to take an optional boat cruise or wander round the village before heading for the wonderful picturesque village of ABERFOYLE and your lunch stop. Aberfoyle is the gateway to the TROSSACHS. After lunch you drive through this beautiful area making picture stops at the lochs and glens. This is the home of ROB ROY MACGREGOR, one of Scotland’s most famous characters. You will also hear stories about WILLIAM WALLACE, immortalised in the film “Braveheart”. The last stop of the day is STIRLINGCASTLE where you will have the opportunity to visit, or just admire the scenery from the esplanade. This castle is famous for its connections with WILLIAM WALLACE, ROBERT THE BRUCE and of course, MARY QUEEN OF SCOTS and BONNIE PRINCE CHARLIE. On your way home you pass LINLITHGOW PALACE where Mary Queen of Scots was born. The tour ends in Edinburgh at Waverley Bridge.
